On the 18th September, the St.Michael's House Templeogue Rights Group and the QQI Level 3 Self Advocacy Learners visited Leinster House to speak about the increased barriers people with disabilities face as their needs change.
The group used their voices to highlight their concerns on inaccessible buildings, and on support changes as people grow older or face additional physical or medical needs.
On this historic visit, they were accompanied by Liz Reynolds, CEO of St. Michael’s House, Sabrina Barrett, Service User Engagement & Advocacy Advisor, and the dedicated staff team from Templeogue day services.
The two groups were facilitated to speak at Leinster House by Sinn Fein TD Louise O'Reilly and also had a chance to meet with Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy.
Congratulations to the Templeogue Rights Group and QQI Level 3 Self Advocacy Group for leading the way in calling for change, and showing that their message is clear: “My Life, My Choices, My Rights”.
