Enjoy Tennis hosted a Tennis Camp for St. Michael's House players. Group players from our Adult Omni Unit attended the two day session. Most of the group are playing tennis for over five years with the supports of Tennis Ireland and local Tennis trainers. The tennis respite trip was funded via Tennis Ireland by the HSE respite scheme.
ENJOY TENNIS is the Tennis Ireland programme for players with a disability to learn and enjoy playing tennis in clubs around Ireland. It began in 2015 and was developed by Tennis Ireland following research which showed that players with a disability typically had no access to tennis as a sport.
"It was a great session with all the guys playing tennis together. Tennis is a great social sport and is played all around the world so it is great sport to work with all groups. Thank you Tennis Ireland for their continued support to St. Michael's House. We really enjoyed the tennis sessions respite camps ". said Sarah Hewitt, St. Michael's House Leisure Centre Manager.
Our group enjoyed the active sessions and developed their tennis skills individually and as a group. The camps provide social interaction and inclusion for all.
