St Michael's House would like to congratulate Richard O'Leary for his outstanding presentation at a recent in-person Irish Social Policy Association seminar.

The seminar discussed capacity in the context of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act.   The Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act (2015) (as amended) is about supporting decision-making and maximising a person’s capacity to make decisions. This Act applies to everyone and is relevant to all health and social care services.

This Act assists in complying with human-rights obligations contained in the Constitution of Ireland, the European Convention on Human Rights, and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).

Richard is pictured above alongside his co-presenters Nat O'Connor (Chair of the Irish Social Policy Association) and Áine Flynn (Director of Decision Support Services).

St Michael's House are proud to have Richard promote and represent our organisation.  Well Done Richard!
