St Michael's House are committed to reducing the organisation's energy use in compliance with the public sector obligations under the Climate Action Plan.
SMH Green Team was created in 2023 and its goal is to collaborate with service users and staff to;
- highlight the importance of reducing energy use and waste
- promote sustainable and eco-friendly environments in our homes, centres, offices and communities.
Our 'Recycling Bin Decorating Competition' was developed and launched by adults who attend our Goatstown Services. The team invited their peers in St Michael's House to decorate a recycling bin for use within their day and residential services. The creativity, skills and talents showcased by everyone was to an exceptional standard making the judges jobs very difficult.

The Green Team would also like to congratulate Work Options, Omni, Ferndale/Avondale, Templeogue and Ophaly Lodge for their outstanding competition entries.
A prize-giving was held in Ballymun HQ on Thursday 1st August 2024 where St Michael's House CEO, Liz Reynolds, presented the winners with their prizes.
