In December 2024 St Michael’s House CEO, Liz Reynolds, wrote to each elected TD in the greater Dublin area inviting them to discuss key issues facing people with disabilities, their families and their caregivers.
This week, our CEO was delighted to meet with Duncan Smith TD for Dublin Fingal East to discuss;
✅ A requirement for equal focus on adult services as on children’s services with additional resources to be allocated to adult services with particular reference to clinical & housing services
✅The limitations of CAS funding and the waitlist in St Michael’s House
✅The requirement for additional children’s and adult respite services
✅The shortfall in the allocation to St Michael’s House for 2025, and
✅The requirement for a pathway to address historical deficits for all Section 38 agencies
On behalf of CEO Liz Reynolds and the Executive Management Team, we would like to thank Mr Smith for engaging with St Michael’s House. We very much appreciate your time and support to services for people with disabilities
🎯 St Michael’s House are committed to delivering services and supports based on the needs, wishes and choices of people with disabilities and look forward to continuing to learn from and influence the sector, government and society as set out in our Strategic Plan 2022-2026.
