St Michael's House were proud to have members of our Social Care Team represent SMH at this year’s Social Care Ireland Conference, which took place in Dundalk on the 2nd and 3rd of April 2025.
The theme for this year’s conference was:
“Creativity, Innovation and Play in Social Care: The Power of Possibility in an Era of Regulation.”
This inspiring and thought-provoking theme encouraged delegates to explore how imaginative and person-centred approaches can thrive, even in the context of increasing regulation. The event provided a valuable opportunity for social care professionals from across Ireland to share ideas, build connections, and reflect on the evolving landscape of care.
Our attending SMH team included:
Lorna Hughes – Person Centred Planning Coordinator
Roisin O’Neill – Quality & Risk Manager
Hazel Cadwell – Service Manager, SA1
Orla Helly – Social Care Leader, Northbrook Day Service
Maria Deaton – Social Care Leader, Ballymun Local Centre
Claire Lambert – Social Care Worker, Northwood Hub
Ola Sosnowska – Social Care Worker, Northwood Hub
Throughout the two-day event, the team engaged in dynamic workshops and discussions, drawing inspiration from fellow professionals and sector leaders. They returned feeling energised, motivated, and excited to bring new learning, creativity, and best practices back into our services at SMH.
St Michael's House are grateful for the opportunity to take part in such a meaningful event and extend our thanks to Social Care Ireland for organising a truly impactful conference.
Valuing & Investing in our Staff and Learning from and influencing the Sector are key goals of St Michael's House Strategic Plan 2022 - 2026 to build and maintain a rights-based approach to service delivery for the people we support.
