In December 2024 CEO, Liz Reynolds, wrote to each elected TD in the greater Dublin area inviting them to St Michael’s House.
On 13 March 2025, our CEO Liz Reynolds met with Naoise Ó Muirí TD (Fine Gael representative for Dublin Bay North). During this discussion Liz highlighted the key issues facing people with disabilities, their families and caregivers and disability service providers on a national level.
A requirement for equal focus on adult services as on children’s services with additional resources to be allocated to adult services with particular reference to clinical, residential and day services
The requirement for additional children’s and adult respite services
The requirement for a pathway to address historical deficits for all Section 38 agencies
The limitations of CAS funding and services waitlist in St Michael’s House
The shortfall in the allocation to St Michael’s House for 2025
On behalf of CEO, Liz Reynolds and the Executive Management Team, we would like to thank Naoise Ó Muirí TD for engaging with St Michael’s House. We very much appreciate your time and support.
St Michael’s House are committed to delivering services and supports based on the needs, wishes and choices of people with disabilities and look forward to continuing to learn from and influence the sector, government and society as set out in our Strategic Plan 2022-2026.
