SMH Northwood Hub Literacy Group has been working hard on a range of fun and creative projects lately.
They have been diving into the fantastic book 'Frankie’s World' by local author Aoife Dooley as part of their weekly book club. Each week, they read together, take notes, discuss the story and characters, and create colourful posters and illustrations. Inspired by Frankie's World, they also started imagining and drawing their own characters—bringing their creativity and storytelling to life!
The Northwood Literacy Group is more than just learning—the group have further developed their skills in making new friends and building relationships.
Here’s what some of the members had to say about their Literacy Group and their new friendships:
💬 *Katie*: “Friendship is magic.”
💬 *John*: “It is very good. I love everything we do. I like my new penpal.”
💬 *Kim*: “Yes, it’s good. I like the book. I’m happy.”
💬 *Daniel*: “It’s nice. Good to listen. I love reading the book together. Teacher is nice. Very good.”
💬 *Courage*: “I like reading about Frankie together. The book is funny. We laugh a lot in this group.”
We are looking forward to hearing more about what Northwood Hub are up to over the next few months.
